Preferred laundry detergents: Tide
Preferred Stain Treater: Zout
STAIN TREATING TIPS FOR WHITES
For that stubborn stain, put equal parts dishwashing crystals/powder and bleach in glass bowl in your sink. Fill with hot water and add the item of clothing. Let sit for at least an hour. Wash separately with Tide in washing machine. Voila! This form of treatment has proven to be the most effective. If you have tried other ways, and you have not been successful, it's worth a try. I have had small issues when I have treated it more than once or let it soak for a long time in the mixture, with the bleach eating through the clothing before the stain is removed. But if I am at the point of having to get rid of the item because I cannot get the stain out, it's worth trying.
DISHWASHER TIP
Add a splash of white vinegar to the bottom of your dishwasher before each cycle. It will get rid of the 'foggy' look on your glassware and other items, over time. It may take a few washes, but it improves each time. Your dishes do NOT come out smelling of vinegar. Just be sure you are adding a splash! Note: this does not take the place of adding dishwashing detergent, it's in addition to the detergent.
